Job Carr Cabin Museum in Tacoma's Old Town Park
On 9/26, experience the 5th Annual Tacoma Fiber Fling. This all ages event features fiber arts demonstrations, textile displays, and hand-crafted items made by local artists, plus live music and community arts activities.

Join TPL and Job Carr Cabin Museum for Studio + Storytime held at Tacoma Art Museum!
Studio + Storytime begins with a reading of a storybook, exploring some art in TAM's galleries, and then a hands-on art project in TAM's studio classroom! Geared towards kids ages 2-8.
Join us as we celebrate Native American Heritage Month and read Berry Song. Special Guest Holly Stewart from Job Carr Cabin Museum will be guiding us in creating a fun stick game that kids and families can play together. There are many variations of the stick or bone games that are played by Indigenous People throughout North America; have fun creating your own.
On 11/20, Tacoma Art Museum and Job Carr Cabin Museum explore the art of basketry. Together we will visit the baskets on display in Decades in the Making: 10 Years of SOLA Awardees (SOLA – Support of Old Lady Artists). Then, Museum Educator Holly Stewart will showcase her own style of coiled basket making with a historical take from the Job Carr Cabin Museum.
Creative Aging (50+) is a free monthly program designed to inspire and connect. All materials are provided, and no prior art experience is necessary. This program is free of charge and open to adults aged 50 and older.
